Hey Guys,
I am looking to buy a high performance igniter module as my old standard one has had it by the looks of it. What are the best ones and which brands?? Its for a 1993 SW20 Turbo.
Cheers

the std one is more than capable, but i'm not sure what the price of them new are.

i'd recommend just finding another one in goods cond, cheapest and will most likely serve you just fine.

as a side note have you fitted new dizzy cap/rotor leads and plugs?

Sorry I meant the actual igniter module, which sits on the coil itself.
Oh and I havents done any of that. Why is that necessary?

Right. Well so as a check list then, which brands would you recommend?
Leads?
Distributor Cap?
Igntition Module?
Spark Plugs?

Leads, Dizzy cap and rotor button go for OEM.
Spark plugs I think most use copper NGK bkr6e or bkr7e. I think the 7e is usually used for higher boost???

I have a spare known working igniter here if you need a stock one?
Would just need to confirm part numbers are the same.

thanks for that tips, really aprreciate it. My mr2 has had a previous ignition setup with an msd ignition system.
It was also running a uni-chip and a bigger turbo. These were on the car years ago though when i wasnt the owner.
Now it just has the stock turbo, stock igniton system and stock ecu. If i get an msd ignition, would I need to upgrade the ecu as well? Just wondering on this one?
obviously this would be a lot of money as well

Sorry man. Just checked the igniter and the part number ends in 12010 which won't work for you.
You should be able to locate one fairly cheaply though from one of those guys on here wrecking sw20s.

I don't have spare coil unfortunately.
