Hey Guys, I completely forgot I had a prior booking to get some work done on my MR2.
And fact I am being asked to possibly drive a tow vehicle from Racewars the cruise has been pushed back a week to the 14th of April 2013.

Same Time and Meet point, but only a week later.

Map will be completed on Tuesday and will be able to give estimates of how long it is.

Sorry for Inconvenience!

Map completed and did a trial run of it today. Cheers Tool381 for you great navigational skills haha

Total driving time is about 1hr 30min - 1hr 45.

I will not be posting a map in its entirety, its a bit to complicated for Google as its in  6 different parts.
Maps WILL be available at meet point or can e-mail the word document to people closer to the day.

As per usual, I will post my number on the first post on the day of the cruise.

Cheers Tool381 for your great navigational skills haha

I hope that's sarcasm. Looking at the map and the road signs same time. Specially when writing and timing each route. I wanna drive next time.

Map turned out great though, I look forward to everyone else attending.

A dry run was done to make sure the map is right, the shops/cafe I had chosen was actually open alas not to not to make another/multiple meet point.
I might be alone on this thought, but I am not sure if I quite understand why there must be a meet point NOR to? Considering this cruise is ending North?

These are not weekly or even monthly cruises I assume people wouldn't mind driving to the single meet point.
The other 'stops' I have on the map are not as long as the first meet point. Its more off an opportunity to take a short break from driving, stretch your legs and have a short chat. Due to the lunch schedule it couldn't be as long as the first meet point.

I have also not just set a single spot for the stpps, due to the area we're going to stop is pretty busy (Sunday Trading, and the fact it should be a nice weekend day) I have a back up which is further along.

Again, it may just me but a fair bit of time actually goes into planning a map, organizing the entire route, running it and finalizing it. I have provided the end point to those interested - honestly not keen to post up the entire map with stops 3 weeks before hand.
Anyone have any issues with this please feel free to PM me.

edit: If people are desperately needing to know some of the stops and if people cant be bothered driving to meet points. I will PM them closer to cruise day.

The meet point is south but we finish up north.  North drivers will have to come south but are already up North when the cruise ends. We south drivers have to venture all back down, its a Win Win situation. Both North and South drivers are equal travel.

I do see that more MR2's the better etc, Chase_D and myself have done this to be fair on both sides. It's not like we set it all down south, all routes are edited and carefully written. Chase_D doesn't just write this in google maps and calls it a day. It's carefully planned out to be equal and fair for both sides with testing and timing.

This is (I think) why Chase_D asks who's going to attend which means from Start to Finish, not half way.

C'mon using a little more fuel in the day isn't gonna do harm.

twomr2`s
both interesting perspectives.

im simply suggesting a group of us(not just myself) could join the group as it is in transit-

i can only speak for myself, but i have a mortgage, and it does not leave me with much money for things like fuel-

silly me for wanting to enjoy my mr2 with along with other enthusiastic mr2 owners on a very limited budget

Depends, how many up north want to just join a moving cruise? I can only see 2 people viewing the thread posts. I'd say if there was 5 or more then maybe Chase_D may change something.

Chase_D said the stops up north aren't long, it's enough to stretch and if others need to catch up (Traffic). I would say less then 5 mins, cruise couldn't be held in one spot for 10 or 35 mins for others to attend and try and catch up. There is only 2 stops and if the distance for NOR people is also little further it would hold up the whole cruise and might put people off from continuing.

Don't take this as rude or arguing please (I am saying this politely) but mortgage isn't really a excuse to not do a full cruise for 1 day, I personally have absolutely no cash coming in and I have a baby on the way. I can still take the cruise all the way with very little without any support.

This cruise was posted 3 weeks ago, including pushed back a week. This allows people to prepare (I have) and be able to get ready to drive and spend a full day or afternoon. I could understand if say example: Chase_D posted it 2 days before, this isn't the case.

Don't get me wrong, I ain't saying "We don't want you or other people jumping in"  I would like to meet other MR2 owners like yourself but simply the cruise was built for a meet point, 2 short stops (Catch up/Small talk and quick food stop) and the finish.  Shake each others hand and cya later, we didn't plan for a "Addon group" which would mean we'd have to cut a stop out, or even food break but that would mean running it again to change the map to suit NOR addon group, thus making the cruise longer or making south guys ticked off as we are suiting it to NOR and would loose that fairness.

I don't see any problem with having others join us at the stop points.

The only condition would be that they don't expect the main group to wait........if you are not there by the time we leave the stop point, we continue on without you.

The responsibility is then on those who are joining the route to plan on being there at the right time.

I think it is important that we respect the time and effort by Chase_d and Tool831 to put this together for us, and our job is to be good followers, however we can all employ a little flexibility.

After all, this is meant to be enjoyable for everyone!!

As people who have attended the cruises, I am very welcome to people join mid cruise. Hence reason for posting number later on

I just dont feel to make a South Meet Point and a North Meet Point.

The meet point for this cruise is not nearby to me (its a 35-40min drive)

Either way, should hopefully be an good day.

Hoping I can get my car sorted in time.
