Yeah I think that would be the only way. Just rim a little off the end.

Or another idea I just came up with is to add a 5mm or so spacer to the rear which would be easier and I wouldn't have to cut the front. The strut top has heaps of thread coming through so I can't see why it wouldn't work.

Cutting springs is houso IMHO, the rear spacer sounds like a better and non defectable option to me. The little things like that really count if you ever get sent over the pits.

Liking this car even more after checking it out in some detail at last nights meet, awesome little thing!

Resetting lowered springs is a bad idea. Only seen it work ok for OEM springs. IMHO, little chop choppy won't hurt as long as the springs won't pop out :)

Then coilovers oneday

Small update:
Went for a drive down the coast to meet up with Bezek27 to buy some AW11 parts.
Top block he was and sorted me out with a whole heap of stuff that my car was missing. List below:

Passenger side coat hook and screw.
Glovebox in excellent condition. (Mine had collapsed inside and was beyond repair. Why they made this out of cardboard I have no idea)
Front suspension strut top nut.
Rear clear visor in good condition. (Just need to source the correct bolts to secure it through the C Pillar trim)
Frunk items: Large plastic trim, fuse box cover, spare wheel support bar, carpet, firewall insulation, wire loom covers and various clips and fasteners.
Some C pillar bolts that I was missing

Overall am stoked with all the bits I got. When I bought the car so many parts were missing. It basically has everything now and is very complete.

Next job to do for completeness is to find an original AW11 scissor jack and complete tool kit. Prob buy this from the UK in the next week or so.

Also ordered a leather handbrake boot to match the shifter boot I installed a few months back.

Ohh and I discovered for the first time that the car has an alarm (ding dong sound) constantly when you exceed about 103kms/hr. Hopefully this can be switched off some how. Really pissed me off as the freeway I was on was 110km/hr for like an hour.

Ordered some new plates for the little beast today. Was going to get a premium colour but the black/white is fine and cheap. They are just basic personalised plates anyway and better than the random text on my current ones.
Shouldn't be too hard to work out what it means :)

I will hopefully get my recently aquired clear rear visor mounted up this weekend as well which will be nice.

Nice one WASBAG! lol jks :)

Good work with the interior pieces. That's one of the best bits about this MR2 community. Plenty of SW20/AW11 wrecks to gather replacement worn/damaged pieces from.

Why you going to the UK for a scissor jack? Was the AW11 one special? Honestly, I'd rather just get a cheap trolley jack & cross from Repco/Supercheap & keep that in the car instead. So much easier to work with if ever required.
I'm feeling the urge to do some auto photography. Can't wait to shoot this beast, the FD, Robs, Dylans, Julians.....etc

Jay, I want the original 'double' scissor jack so that I can mount it where it should be in the frunk. Its bothering me having an empty bracket :)

Other news:
Started replacing the old scratched and semi rusted bolts from the frunk area. All the bolts holding the guards on, radiator slam panel, windor wiper, front & rear number plates etc have been replaced with stainless hex head bolts with washers. Looks much tidier.

The leather handbrake boot I ordered arrived and installed easily.

The rear visor is on now! Thanks MK1corse for sending me the bolts/spacers that were required.

I'm really wanting some Recaro LX seats after seeing a couple of Adub's with them. Not cheap for good condition ones :(

I also determined that my car is a 1989 build not the 1988 that I though it was.
This is due to a few additions such as: Led brakelight in the spoiler, colour coded folding mirrors of a different design, colour coded door handles and lighter silver paint instead of grey on the bottom half of the two tone paint work.

I reckon these Recaros currently listed on RPM Garage are a good buy.

They are a good buy! Thanks for the link. $300 for EMS postage is pretty good
They are the LX style i'm looking for but I was hoping to find some in the original colour scheme.
