just Wondering what are my options to fix it.
for the last three years every now and then the key would not turn till after playing with it and it will turn and start the car.
and now cant turn the key at all.
it only turn to a small click and that's it.
the key looks worn and did get new cut last year  but it didn't help.
i used D/W40 and graphite and still nothing. i called a locksmith and told me it could be the ignition switch but not sure.
just wondering if anyone had the same problem.
thanks

Has it got a locking button? (AW11) mine does it occasionally, just have to press the locking button and the key turns.

can you get Toyota to cut a new key based on the code I wonder?

I’m trying to get the key code but Toyota can’t find it.

You can get the key code off one of the door locks. Toyota can cut you a new key using this code.

This thread has a little extra info.

Does it matter if I get the code from drivers door.
I read a lot people get it from passenger side.

No idea man. Maybe start with the passenger side first. The pass lock might be slightly different to the driver side.

The reason I ask my passenger door has a different key.

Sounds like you have no choice but to check the driver lock then. Does your ignition key work in the driver lock as well as the boot and glove box?
