Hi All,
I need to replace the battery in my 1990 SW20. At first I had trouble finding the code number for the battery, but Repco looked it up and said NS60 something and "we have 5 - $179". When he showed one to me, it looks too small for the tray it sits in.
He suggested that in the 27years of battery development perhaps the battery has smaller dimensions.
To me, so long as it has enough grunt, CCAs, then dims are the most important specification. Alright voltage.
The current battery in the car is the wrong one, too tall and the brackets that hold it in place are not there, so I stuffed rags
around it as it also does not fit the tray.
a) should the battery fit "snuggly" in the tray, or does it rely on the clamps to stop movement ?
b) does anyone know the correct dimensions ? I am thinking of getting a deeper battery with extra CCAs so long as it fits.
c) recommendations ?
thanks
