I'm sure a few of your will be in this situation soon enough, if not already.  Looking to rebuild my rear calipers soon and need SST 09756-00010 to remove the Adjusting Bolt from behind the piston.

From my searching this is a difficult tool to locate.  I will try Toyota tomorrow but was hoping someone had an idea of another source or an alternate method/tool technique.  It seems some people skip this part of the rebuild but I would like to do it as part of my rebuild.

Thanks.

I think I have one of these in my toolbox - I'll check in the morning . . .

Curious, I rebuilt mine without using any special tools.

I also re-built mine some time ago with full dis-assembly, but I can't remember the full procedure.
No special tools were used, apart from a custom spanner to screw the piston back in to allow re-assembly.

The SST is the "safe and recommended" method.  From memory it takes 3 times as long as pushing down with a flat screwdriver  . . .

Well I have one coming from Toyota, ex Japan, for $13.53.  While this is a 3 week wait I think it would still be a good piece to have on hand, and seeing as I'm in no rush.  I could also post it out on loan for others doing the same job.

This said I would still be interested in any technique people have used as an alternative.  I know Aaron (of Lithia fame) has a zip tie method of some sort, I probs should pm him and find out.

I'm sure I read somewhere that Aaron has now left Lithia.

Yeah he has, figured that would be the best way to describe him, maybe 'ex lithia' would've been better. He's still known for it though I guess.

Came in today, YAY!  Pretty keen to get it dirty, almost want to go and do it now.
