Is the box under the seat a Jap air purifier?

'air purifier' doesn't seem right. I would imagine an air-purifier to have air hoses going in and out. I don't recall any significant tubage.
I'll post some pics asap.

ok I think getting the ball joints sorted is going to be priority one for me.
 
can anyone suggest how much this should cost?
 
ebay has ball joints listed from about $20 to about $50 for singles, pairs, fronts and rears.
are the ball joints different for NA v turbo?
Would Toyota sell them?

man do i feel dumb.
had another look at that metal box under the drivers seat and there under a thick layer of dust it says  'pioneer gm-41a'
which is an old amp!
 
I guess the audio guys who put the new head unit in  (about 8 years ago) didnt actually bother looking at the metal box, cos they said they didnt know what it is!
 

How bad are your the damaged side rims, not able to repair them?

3sgeTurbo - I'll post some pics so you can see.
I did take them to a budget tyre place to get the tyres removed and they said the rim's couldnt be repaired, but I always thought since they are two piece rims, surely the damaged parts can be replaced in some way!?
The centres/spokes part are not damaged, it's the rim's/lip's that are bent.
 
They're CST Presario wheels,    are they any good??
