Hey everyone,

I'm in need of extractors for my 98' Bathurst. My car is currently at an exhaust shop but the manifold that I bought doesn't fit. If anyone can help me out it'll be much appreciated!

Cheers,
Pat

What exhaust manifold did you buy out of curiosity and do you still need one for your car?

I bought a stainless steel 2.5" 4-1 manifold from another user here but it didn't end up fitting because it was for a gen 1/2. I still have it incase anyone needs a manifold for an earlier 3SGE.

So yes, I do still need one!

Factory exhaust manifold is pretty good. Very little to be gained from aftermarket extractors. Adrian reverted to factory on his NA before he saw the light and went 2GR)

I spoke to the mechanic who did my exhaust up in Hornsby, and he said the same thing about the factory manifold. Think I might save myself a couple bucks and hold off from one.

Cool, send me a PM if you change your mind. I have a Fujitsubo Super EX manifold in storage :)

Wasn't the Fujitsubo Super EX manifold made for the Gen 2?
I think the OP has a Gen 3.motor

Hi Reddtarga,
The Fujitsubo Super EX is compatible for both TYPE I/II and TYPE III/IV 3S-GE powered SW20s.
The only difference from memory is the GEN III guys can't use the original heat shield as the mounting spots are not the same.

I had a friend many years ago run a Fujitsubo Super EX on his 1994 Bathurst.

Please see te link below from the Fujitsubo website:

That's interesting.
I have always been told that Fujitsubo only sold the Super X headers for the Gen 2 3SGE, so I just assumed that they wouldn't suit the Gen 3.
I actually run the Super X system on my Gen 2 motor, and it is beautifully made full stainless.
The headers have equal length pipes unlike the stock headers, and are 4 kg lighter too.
I note that my Super X header/exhaust system is 4-2-1, the same setup as the stock Gen 2 system.

I think the stock Gen 3 exhaust system is 4-1.
I note on your link the pics show a 4-2-1 setup.

I too thought the Super EX was just for the TYPE I/II SW20s until my friend bought one (second hand) for his 1994 Bathurst. Yes, They are beautifully made like all Fujitsubo products :). Unfortunately they never made one for the BEAMS powered SW20s :(

As for the GEN 3 3S-GE being 4-1, I thought they were 4-2-1 but the b-pipe is different to the GEN 2 3S-GE.
