Are you using the immobiliser unit from the same donor car the engine ECU came from?

Eric
Yes

I have 2 sets of matching gear (ecu, immobiliser, key, key barrel and reader

I had to use an immobiliser ECU from a different vehicle and had to run a pairing process to get the engine ECU to recognise it, might be worth trying the pairing process in case things don't quite match up
I take it your symptom is engine not starting?
Have you wired up security led from immobiliser to see what it is doing, I wired mine up to the key barrel led and works great

OK as per my other help thread - IT RUNS

two pins were backwards in the ecu plug, causing the 5v circuit to short. when this happens the ECU does not turn on as a safety measure.

I got the car sorted, coolant bled with nate and had to replace the alternator.
The car sounds INSANE. I could not have wished for a better noise. I drove it to work today and it runs flawlessly.

Its so easy to drive around town but when you put your foot down it makes one hell of a noise and really moves!

Honestly, after driving it for the first time, it was worth every penny and hour spent on it. I finally built my dream car. I could have had an 86 for what I have spent on my car over the past 4 years, but no 86 would be as fun to drive and as powerful as this. Nor would it turn heads like this.

Packing my tools tonight, clothes tommorow and off to MTC on the weekend. So excited!

I'm so happy for you mate!
No doubt you were panicking and stressing recently, but it has all payed off and now you can just enjoy the car.
Before you leave QLD, make sure you re-check the coolant level for reassurance. Last time I bled my coolant, I spent a very long time doing it properly, but the level still dropped slightly the next 4-5 times that I drove the car.

Great news Eric well done. Please bleed that coolant system properly before you leave. The way those systems are designed they can give you a false sense of security and catch you out big time.
