Trust me, I've been there, I was forever having to retighten my dump pipe connection, it was a pain in the arse. I dare say an adapter will miaslign the down pipe exit.

Sell your coated turbine housing and buy a vband version. What turbo do you have?

I'll talk to my mech to see if it will be much hassle to change the housing.

Not much hassle, 6 bolts to undo, turbine housing comes straight off. You can get vband rear housings for the 3076, infact, there is a car in my shed with one on it.

Thanks for the advice, I'll look into it.

I would really suggest wiring your amp directly to the battery with its own fuse... read the instructions for the amp and it will explain this.

Yeah I know that's the best way of doing it. I already have an installation kit including the power cables and fuse, I was just hoping that I could avoid running a power cable to the battery but still get a decent result by getting 12V from the engine bay instead.

The cable running from the battery to the rear fuse box is quite beefy. Unless you are running huge monster amps, if you hook up to the rear fuse box I wouldn't think you would experience any significant voltage drop than if you hooked up straight to the battery (which I agree would be ideal). You could always hook it up temporarily, crank it up and see what voltage drop you are getting between the battery and the rear fuse box (and also amp to see if your actual amp wiring is getting any voltage drop, both feed and ground.

Whichever way you go, put a fuse in the power feed as close as possible to the power source for safety.

Your deck looks awesome btw. Will be interestin got get a report how it all works in practice once its up and running.

Cheers

After doing an all-nighter last night, I've just finished installing the head unit, and I've run most of the cables for the amp. I ended up running all the cables in the door sill (much easier and tidier than I expected), and I ran the power cable straight to the battery rather than the engine bay fuse box. I'll put photos up later.

I took it home the day I got it, to show people, and the next day my mechanic was like "I wanted some alone time with it, but you had already taken it". LOL
