very interesting! what type of cooler did you get and how will you mount that?

Hey Rob, is it really necessary to have two heat exchangers with the size of the one on the left?

^ short answer is yes.

Most people would run a HE of roughly double that size up the front. The front recieves alot more air/cool air too.

Just a small point in case you haven't already done it, but you'll need to reverse the blades on one of the fans. The fan blades are curved so that the shallower angle leads, so when you reverse the motor you also turn the blades around to keep the shallow angle leading.

Also, I wouldn't think you would have done this but it looks like the bolts on the left heat exchanger go straight through the tank! Does it have captive nuts on the tanks?

your right heat exchanger is where im gonna mount my oil cooler. where did you buy your fans? i need to buy two small mini fans to mount on the back of the coil cooler and somehow have a thermostat turn the fans on and off.

are your fans constantly on? or do you have a temp sender somehwere and then the fans wil turn on at a certain temperature?

i reckon put it in the passengers seat lol :P

At the time when this post was made (and the posts by other people above and below), I had made the decision to install 2x PWR heat exchangers in the engine bay (one in the normal A2A location on the right, and another on the top left of the engine bay), with a PWR A2W intercooler barrel in the boot. That setup looked really good and unique, and performed OK, so I kept it for about 2 years but eventually I conceded that I should have listened to everyone's advice in the beginning. 
 
Since late 2013, I've had a more typical setup with a front mount heat exchanger and an A2W intercooler core in the engine bay, and it works significantly better than the previous setup!

I got back my bored-out fuel rail from Road and Track earlier this week (I'll upload a photo later in case anyone wants to know what it entails). My mechanic still needs to order some 800cc side feed injectors to fit into the stock (albeit bored) gen 2 fuel rail.

I just washed the whole engine bay before the engine goes back in next week for trial fitting of things like the W2A piping and the oil catch can. Apparently my mechanic will only be working on my car next week

Dylan says that my exhaust manifold is not far away too!
