Great news! You may beat me and Steve back onto the track!

After some little hiccups that were difficult to diagnose but easy to fix, it's finally finished! The run-in tune will take place early next week. It's been more than 8 months since I last drove it, so I can't wait!
I'll cover the run-in kilometers in no time, then we'll do a full 98 RON gasoline tune, then finally an E85 tune.

I forgot to mention that I had to replace my ID2000 injectors because they were flow-tested just before they were going to be reinstalled, and two of them were flowing way less than the others! They're advertised as being ethanol compatible, but other people have also had them fail when running E85. I've heard that it's the additives in E85 that cause the failures, rather than the ethanol itself, but I don't know.
Anyway, I replaced them with ID1700s which are properly E85 compatible, and they should still have more than enough flow for my requirements. It was annoying having to add such a big unexpected expense to the list though!

The issue with id2000's is being a Compressed Natural Gas injector, they have a polymer o ring seal in them. The issue is when they are used with Methyl tert-butyl ether, which is an additive used in some fuels, as it swells the seal up, reducing flow about 10-15% over time. MTBE is commonly used in VP racing fuels, and high octane race fuels that dont contain ethanol.
The ferrous metal pintle seems to be really prone to sticking too when stored after e85 use too.

I picked up the car from Advance yesterday, and as soon as I drove out of their driveway, I immediately drove to Macquarie Pass and back, which is almost a 300km trip. Gotta get those run-in km done ASAP!
The guys at Advance want the oil to be changed at 500km and again at 1000km before the full tune takes place.
I'll do another 200km tonight so the 500km oil change can happen tomorrow when I have a day off.
We're booked in for the full 98 RON and E85 tunes next Wednesday at JEM!

How does it feel?

Feels great! But I'm intentionally avoiding making a judgement about it until the full tune is done.

I can't wait to hear your report. I know how much better mine felt when I changed from 3s to 5s so am very keen to see if your experience is similar. Did you end up changing anything else other than the 5s build?

Nothing changed apart from the 5S bottom end, twin fuel pumps, and minor things like replacing some old rubber hoses. It still cost a bucketload of money though!

I've driven 700km so far on the run-in tune, and it feels amazing even when I'm staying below ~6psi and ~4k rpm. I'm noticing the difference more and more, and it's just begging for a full tune!
