Hang onto the arm with the wind deflector. After I got rid of mine the wiper would lift up and not wipe properly at freeway speeds. Swapped it back and all good now.

Thanks for the info. That's the kind of situation where I expected that it could present a problem. I did keep the original just in case. I don't drive the MR2 in the rain much anyway, the main reason I upgraded the blades is because they were rusty/ugly and had too much play in them.
The more modern fancy wiper blades look like they all have a wind-deflecting shape anyway? The ones that I chose are just plain old-style blades for now, but they were the only ones in the shop that had screw-to-hook adapters.

Yeah some of the new ones look good. I took the cheap option and just got standard replacement ones.

As mentioned in the MTC 2015 thread, I now have a separate set of rims for the track.
They are 'Linea Sport Super Spoke', rear 17x9 +38 and front 17x8 +29.

I also got some Federal 595 RS-R tyres from Gorilla Industries, 255/40 R17 and 215/40 R17:

My intention is to keep semi-slicks on these 17 inch rims for the track only, and keep normal road tyres on the 18 inch rims for the street.

EDIT: I know that Federal 595 RS-R aren't true semi-slicks, but they should be a good stepping-stone towards a true semi-slick in the future. One reason I avoided a true semi-slick (for the time being) is because they are generally much more expensive.

I just did a trial fitment of the 17 inch Linea Sport Super Spoke rims on my car, and this is how they look:

The fitment is perfect without spacers, and I love how they look.
They are almost good enough to use permanently, even on the street, but I love my 18 inch Work Equip Anhelos rims too much to get rid of them. For now I'll stick to my plan of using the 17s for the track only and the 18s for the street.

They look fantastic! How much did you pay for them, and where did you get them?

They were $1199 USD (before shipping) from MR2OC forum member "DB8", who sells hundreds of awesome second hand rims, including rare ones. However, DB8 is based out of Hong Kong, so shipping can be expensive.
I was willing to pay a fair bit for these rims because I always want my car to look good, whether it's on the street or on the track.

They don't look so bad on a red car either. Set of staggered 16'' by 7 and 8 now sitting on my shed floor now wearing some antique (hard as) A048s. Could be available at MTC2015 for less than Rob paid for shipping alone.
