Hi All,

So in the process of doing work on my car (it's gone a lot more involved than planned) I had the windscreen removed to check the surrounds for rust and re-do the seal.

Now while looking around I found this (see pictures - one is with plug removed and other with plug on) just under the windscreen with the plastic cowl/louvre removed pretty much in the centre. Now obviously by design (mounting etc) its factory. I haven't delved behind the dash to see where it goes and I have a slight suspicion what it might be. Also the service manual doesn't seem to help.

Look forward to an MR2 nerd telling me conclusively...

Is it a JDM car? It could possibly be the aerial that JDM cars had in the glass of the windscreen - not sure if it was for the radio, traffic reports or both.

I think you might be right.

Because the windscreen has been changed at some point in the last 30 years I'm now trying to figure out if I can buy something to wire in to the windscreen...

Think that is for the AM radio reception via the two black vertical lines on the factory jdm windscreen as dudeman mentioned.

My first sw20 had this.

They are something that is set in the glass as its made, pretty sure it not possible to retro fit them.
