Does the ECU vary the ignition timing at 7000rpm based on various sensor information ?
or is it simply a calculation against rpm ?

The BGB says idle timing for the SW20 is 10o BTDC, but presumes the engine will boost to 11psi and is using 94 octane fuel (according to KO racing - not sure where they got the info).  I use 98 octane fuel and I'm only getting 8.5 psi currently, so could  use a few more degrees of timing. Easy enough to do, but does +3 degrees at idle mean I will get +3 degrees everywhere ?

cheers

Yes the ECU will vary the ignition timing at 7000rpm based on map sensor/maf sensor readings along with water and air temperature also knock sensor

As a general rule, yes you will get +3 degrees everywhere if it is not set correctly at idle.
