Eric
Hi All!

After two years we are back with another track event, and this one will be a big one!

We have organised a Super Sprint day at Queensland Raceway in Ipswich.
The format will be as follows;

Morning Session: 0830-1230
General Practice session (untimed)

Afternoon Session: 1300-1600
Open Sprints (3x6 Lap sessions - Timed)

Cost: $100pp
Additionally, you will also require a RACERS day or annual licence which can be organised online at qldraceways.com.au or on the day, however online is preferred

Day Licence: $20
Annual Licence: $50

Cost of the Timer rental is $20 for the day with a $100 deposit, or you can buy it outright for $120 - this is organised through QR directly on the day. The batteries last for around 5 years. You don't need a timer to drive on the day however times wont be recorded if you don't have one

Usual track day attire is required - Australian standards helmet and neck to ankle clothing.

MR2 Owners and Club members will have first preference to track day spots until the 20th of July. Entries will be accepted until the 18th of August, so please make sure you have paid by then.

We only have 20 spots so get in quick. First come, First served!

Spectators are free

Please shoot myself or Ben77 a PM if you are interest in coming and we will forward the bank details onto you.

Prizes
We will have two awards only available for MR2 Club members who drive MR2's at this event;
  • Fastest lap time - Over 2 Liters (incl. Turbo/Supercharged MR2's)
  • Fastest lap time - 2 Liters and Under

Refunds
No refunds will be issued if you are unable to make the event, however if you can't make it you are able to sell your spot. Please let myself or Ben know if this is the case.
Bad weather: No refunds will be issued if there is bad weather UNLESS the event is cancelled and we are provided a refund from QR.

Eric do you know if QR will accept a CAMS licence, or are only the new RACERS licence accepted.  The Info Pack isn't specific but does suggest that other recognised licenses will be recognised.

CLUBMAN:
This licence is mandatory for all types of timed and non-timed events that have a speed, drift or timed
component but do not have a “massed grid” start. This license also enables the holder of a licence from
a recognised source to compete in the equivalent events conducted by QRO.

Eic I see it's "general practice day" do we mix it with all the other general practice cars or does the club get it's own track time?

Hey Roger,

I will ask QR for you.

Just to keep this thread small, I'll update the first post to save the need for copy pasting.

I have also updated the first post with regards to timing. Cost of the Timer rental is $20 for the day with a $100 deposit, or you can buy it outright for $120. The batteries last for around 5 years.

Tim, I have asked QR about CAMS. Just awaiting a reply

Update from QR;

1: General practice session will have our entire group in it, however depending on how many other cars come along we may have others in our group. Any other cars in our group will be 'tin tops' however (e.g. not open wheel race cars)

2. Unfortunately they won't accept a CAMS licence for the event as it is not CAMS sanctioned

18 spots filled in how many days?  I think this needs to happen more regularly, certainly seems like there is enough interest.
