Hey guys, Alex from Wilhelm Race Works here. I just came across this thread via my google webmaster tools and figured I would comment on the tie rod bracket concerns.
While I can't do anything about the legal issues, I can say that I have been running my setup for years and repeatedly hit 1.2g+ lateral in track / autocross use, and the ONLY time I have ever had the brackets slip was when I physically hit something (a parking lot curb at an autocross). I broke / bent a good number of other things in that incident, including two stock Toyota knuckles and one strut insert.
However, if it still was a concern you could always weld the bracket to the knuckle. I would hope that this would get you by any inspection concerns as well.
