That's a good start to the program!Great to see its becoming the 'must do' event for many MR2 owners and their friends.
Will we see a few more 'race spec' builds for MTC 2016? More upgrades and more practice days to get that edge?
I'm at Wakefield next week to finalize a few details for 2016 and the awards for 2015. The dates are 95% locked in as 11-12-13 of January. So best to plan/book for these days. I will have the entries open in the coming weeks so people can secure their spots for garage/accommodation packages. It will be first 28 entries will secure their own garage with the option to 'double up' in the garages as there a number of shed which can store 3 cars overnight. People should also look into purchase of a 6mtr x 3mtr marquee which can be erected directly behind the garages for a second car. Other option is the open sheds and the five available open carports beside the pitlane garages.
Accommodation is capped at 60 beds located at the cabins. Camping is allowed at Wakefield Park so this is also an option for people. You can set up a caravan or the likes at the cabins or the rear of the garages. The other option is the 'Pelican Sheep Station. MTC allows accommodation for the first 45 entries with 8 spare beds for guests, 6 spots for volunteers and officials. If you miss this offer, the accommodation offer is not included in your entry fee.
As it has been since the inception of MTC, there will be early bird deals for MR2 owners and previous entrants.
The event will continue to run as a privately funded and organized event under AASA insurance and regulations as it has proven to be a successful formula for all involved.
Who is interested in shirts/hats/mugs/shot glasses(yes please) for MTC?
