Yes it getting close to our biggest MR2 trackday of the year. Very pleased with the way its going for 2015. Just waiting on two regulars to get their entries in to make 37 entries.
It's great to see the majority will be MR2's. It certainly does help with the perception of the marque as the MR2 certainly needed a event to put it on the trackday map with all the other marques. Also great to see Lotus/Nissan/Mazda/Ford/Subaru/Mitsubishi adding great colour the event.
The 14th will now be a 'speed off the streets' day as I could not confirm the numbers for a third day at Wakefield. This will still allow for plenty of track time with up to 6 sessions available over the day. If its a quiet day, we should be able to swing a few more.
Our two Japanese guests will be arriving on the Sunday at 14.00. People interested in joining Robk in taking the international guests for a cruise, send Rob a email to let him know of your intentions.
Paul Brell and his business partner(Geoff Spears) have confirmed they will be our resident mechanics for the trackday. For their input, they will be turning a few laps in Pauls very own SW20. His business partner is a multiple IPRA race winner, raced in Japan endurance races, run SSS Automotive for many years. I will be talking to Geoff about offering driver training.
A friend of Peter and myself will also be attending. He is a ex-HRT mechanic who will be there to turn a few laps and may tell a few tales on the Monday night.
Neil Trama will be back in a new Lotus to inspect all the cars and enjoy plenty of banter as he did in 2014.
See you all in a few weeks!
