dennis the menace
I've found a regular application of Inox keeps the rust at bay.

Doesn't do much for the braking performance, though . . .

yeh i did notice they were 3mm larger. So your certain they wouldn't work out? I wonder why they didn't stick to factory specs?

Unfortunately not Steve, they would be doing this as it is a generic disc size from a different more common vehicle.

Hi All, New to the Forum, so this is my first post.

I am looking to upgrade the brakes on my MR2's, from what I understand the Supra Mk IV front disks and Mazda RX8 rear disks sound the go, but I would also like to fit either 6 pot/4 pot calipers. Any sensible suggestions for options and possible sources? Both cars are 1990 models, one has 17" wheels the other 18"s and both are fitted with fully adjustable coil overs so I don't believe I will have any clearance issues. Will also want to source braided lines. Not sure what to do about the handbrake if I go to  4 pot rear caliper?

Hi Doug that is quite overkill for these cars.

Is this for "looks" more so than performance? I can help with various BBK's if you do not require such a large rear setup.

Hi, Yes perhaps overkill, but I rather do it all once and then not need to go back and change it later on. I'm happy to look at all options and obviously weigh up cost vs solution, but if I am to change calipers, remember I have early model cars, I might as well upgrade to the best practical option.
Please feel free to suggest options. Regards Doug

there are limited options for the rear brakes that will retain a functional street legal handbrake. I think you can get D2 6 piston front 4piston rear but the kits kameleon offers are the best bang for your buck with lots of good reviews. There is a lot more to bbk's than throwing the biggest possible calipers on. eg master cylinder size piston diameter all of which have been considered with the design of deltav kits

Well put Timbo.

I use standard callipers on my SW20 racer and they are fine. I do have bigger rotors though didn't notice any difference in braking performance after I put them on.
Unless your brakes are fading, don't bother putting bigger ones on unless you just want to do it for the bling.
I have a mate with V8 supercar brakes on his MK1 Ford Cortina which weighs less than 1000Kgs. They look ridiculous.

I use PB brakes on my car and the stopping power is very strong with no fade after repeated high speed stops.
You will have to upsize the master cylinder though to maintain a firm brake pedal.

Everyone will tell you its overkill, but I drive my car hard and it accelerates to speed very quickly, stopping quickly and confidently is pretty important to me.
