Heya!

Ok, Here is my MR2 Turbo!

The car had a 3" turbo down pipe... With the cat hollowed out already.. Going back to the stock Muffler.
It actually sounded pretty good on low revs, but pretty quiet.. I wanted a better exhaust.

So I got this Exhaust made up today, But its so DRONEY now, especially when backed off throttle.
So current setup is: 3" down pipe with gutted cat, 3" to the back to a Y splitter then 2.5" with straight thru with resonators on either side... Why so Droney? not even loud.. Do I need bigger muffler on either side? what you recommend?

what cat converter have you got. looks like the Ebay one with the dump pipe/cat converter in one unit..
i would suggest a highflow metallic cat of around 200cpi which should quieten down the system but still flow nicely..
or sell the exhiust and buy a fujitsubo, its quiet but sounds awsome at the same time

OK,

Do you think It would be better if those muffler were replaced with bigger mufflers?
What size you recommend?  These are pretty small right?
I still want it to flow good, just to get rid of the Drone.!

not really sure mate. bigger mufflers will certainly make it more quiet, so thats one option to try. otherwise as i mentioned earlier get the fujitsubo exhaust, everyone who has them have been pretty happy with it..

Yeah but the Fuji exhaust is 1200$
And he may be on a budget
Look
Get a proper down pipe
Berk make an excellent one

Then a hi flo cat 100-200 CPI is fine

Then a bigger muffler,

In my na I just had a custom exhaust full polished stainless
2.5 inch from the flex back

And a 100 cell metal cat

With a mercury straight through muffler
Cost me 600$
All tig welds and looks awsome,
And sounds nice and tuff when you stomp on it
But nice and quiet at quarter throttle its great :)
And is very hi flowing compared to the stock one

Gorilla industries could prob locate a good used fujitsubo for around $700. No need to spend big money on new stuff.

Just putting it out there - I have a Fujitsubo exhaust system (from cat back) lying around at home.  From memory its either a 2.5 or 3 inch...not sure, some-one else may know until I measure it.

I was going to put up a for sale thread for it as I have no need for it (I personally have the HKS HiPower 3inch exhaust system on my car - love it!!!) so if your intersted, let me know.

I personally did not like my fujitsubo exhaust, was too quiet for me, looked the goods though.  I recommend you sample  one before shelling out.

I also got a custom exh made and also feel its too loud, sounds pretty good when your into it but for normal driving it gets too much.  I am interested in what solution you come up with.
