Have you had a chance to test out the Protex rotors? Got them on mine a few months back, I think they're decent for the money. Paired them with Protex front pads and TRW's on the rear. My mechanic said they're known to squeak but mine hasn't made a sound.

Nah, unfortunately the car still isn't running. Probably still a few months away from testing the brakes haha

Are you referring to the rotor making noise or the pads?

Ordered new shims, once they arrive its full steam ahead.
 
While I wait I've got the brake lines disconnected so I can put the new lines in.
 

Be very careful when fitting the clips to secure those lines to the strut. The PLASTIC ferrule is rubbish.

Are you talking about the elec cables running over the strut tower?

NO. The flexible brake lines. Those ones in your photo above described as brake lines.
They have a crappy plastic ferrule that the C clip slides into and the plastic is rubbish. Piss poor design.
Should be all steel construction. It is a brake component!!. Might be important at some time maybe ??
