Don't think it will look as nice, plus quite pricey so better off getting something else instead if that's the case.

Tramlining in MR2 varies based on the year MR2 you have. the early model SW20's tramline a lot with 17's, the later model with revised suspension doesn't. When I drove an early model MR2 I went down from 17's to 16's and it sorted out the tramlining and drove a lot better. I had the original suspension on the car with 17's then switched to tein super street imported new from japan and was still crap. Put 16 inch WEDS with 35 offsets, was all good and cornered much faster. On my Gen3 I run 17's up front with no tramlining. The early MR2's are more pointy with the steering.

I think Mikes (carmikey) offset is a bit much when I saw it and might limit how wide your tyres can be without rubbing, even with rolled guards. I'm pretty sure Mike will correct me if I'm wrong, but I think he'll recommend +35 or +38. Mike?

My offset +22 is fine and only rubs on hard corning & firm bumps, but mainly cause i run such low springs. It's the same issue when i run these wheels on my 96 gen 3 also. (Again that too has super lows in the rear). It does rub quite a bit with 45 profile and i would only recommend 40 max on front or rears.
I'll post a better side shot for u to decide for yourself.

Do you run +22 on front and rear?
Since I'm going to be running either Tein or BC Racing coilovers (haven't decided yet) and it is going to be fairly low, I need to make sure the wheel does not hit anything. Rolling the guards to my understanding is a necessity, but I don't want the wheel hitting the springs.
So would you just recommend running 17x8 +35 on the front and 17x9 +35 at the back? Thanks a lot.

Mine doesn't interfere with the springs. Saying that i know alot of people have wheels clearance issues when running coil overs.
I run standard struts with lowered springs.
No, fronts are 35 & rear are 22 offset.

I have teins and 17x8 +35's will hit the front springs. I have 17x8 at the front with about a +28 offset and it just clears from the inside hitting the springs.

Hmm okay I see, won't know for sure until I do it myself. Cheers for the help.

track_mr2, so +35 is a no go if I'll be going for Teins? Or will I still be able to have +35 at the back and figure something out for the front?

Just found a 17x9 +22 set which brings me to my next question - is 9 waaay too wide for the front? No matter what tyre I wrap it it?
