+35 should fit nicely
Depending on tyre choice it may pay to have your rear guards rolled.
My 235's on 9" +38 rims rub slightly when the car is fully loaded and i encounter large bumps.

hmm okay, thanks for your help! I'll see how it goes and if it rubs I'll get them rolled. :)

The picture i posted above shows the rears with 235/40 17" tyres on Rays Gram Light 9" +38 rims.
Fitment is great :)

So ideally, since RPF1s only come in +22, +35 and +45 I would need 17x8 +35 at the front and 17x9 +35 for the rear? I can't quite figure that out with the calculator. Thanks

Mine fit ok too.  rears guards needed to be rolled - otherwise fine.
RPF-01
17 x 8 +35   (215 40 17)
17 x 9 +22   (235 45 17)  a 40 profile is better suited.

Just got off the phone to someone who supplies these, I'm thinking of getting some instead of TE37. In another Toyota forum I used to frequent, no one messed with the offset of the front tyres due to making the car "follow" ruts in the road (don't know the technical term for this anyone?). Does this not bother any MR2 owners? If I put 7 inch wheels on the front I would go +32 +45 offset to match the factory, and ignore any sort of flush fitting hopes.

Edit: ignore me I'm as confused as you are, but I'm looking at the same wheels so interested to hear opinions

The term I believe is 'Tramlining'

At one stage I had 225 205/50R15 Hankook RS2's fitted to 15x7 front wheels that had factory 45mm offset and the tramlining was really bad!! Then I changed to the same size Bridgestone Adrenalins on the same wheels and absolutely zero tramlining!!

I have also had 225 205/50R16 Adrenalin's on the front on 16 X 6.5  35mm offset Nissan wheels with no trace of tramlining.

The Rs2's had very stiff sidewalls compared to the Adrenalin's, so it would appear that tramlining may depend more on how stiff the sidewalls are, and not necessarily on offset.

I have just corrected the tyre sizes I used - sorry for the mistake.

Oooooh okay, this looks interesting. Just realised RPF1 only come in silver with the +35 offset, and I don't really like silver, however +22 come in black and that's the colour I'm after. Carmikey, I love the way it looks, would you be able to send through a nice side shot? +22 gives enough caliper clearance?

Rick, that's exactly what I'm after, however, I do want black RPF1s and the +35 offset just doesn't come in black.

Cheers!

I think Mikes (carmikey) offset is a bit much when I saw it and might limit how wide your tyres can be without rubbing, even with rolled guards. I'm pretty sure Mike will correct me if I'm wrong, but I think he'll recommend +35 or +38. Mike?

I'm really hoping +22 is OK, because if not I'll have to go for a different rim altogether as silver just isn't an option for me. It looks fine in the photo, but a confirmation would be awesome.
