Yea fortunately I have a good mate who is clever with these things, it was hard to do because the curve isn't uniform as you can see from the layers of plastic but it came out great. It's more accurate than my Ormori guage so I should really have it on the column but I like it there and I only need to glance to check peak boost is all good. Also really easy to change the presets where it is.

Alright so once again all is not well in camp MR2, I took the car for a lengthy drive to newcastle the other day and it was fine the entire way right up until the moment when I turned the car off, I momentarily turned the ignition back on to check gauges and this is what came up:

Something was clearly wrong as it had only gone up while the car was off. The same thing happened the other day when it was 40+ degrees, I took the car out to fill up with fuel and I noticed the gauge slightly climbing, pulled over and turned it off and same thing happened. The car will probably need a new radiator, so any suggestions? I've heard good things about Mishimoto and PWR.

PWR quality is amazing, been running one for a number of years now with no issues. My temp gauge (aftermarket) climbs a few degrees after shut off, but nowhere high enough I'm worried about it.

Are you sure your coolant system is bleed properly.

yep absolutely, I bled it per the document on the forum with the hoses and bleed points from the frunk etc, also used a mechanics bleeding bucket that attached to fill point in engine bay, only thing I can think of is radiator. There must be a blockage or damage to it somewhere :/

Where is your sensor located? Mine would climb when it the engine was off, mechanic said it would do that as my sensor was high in the system. Can't remember where it was located though, my mech used redmr2red's detailed guide. When i'd start it up the water would circulate and it would climb down right away.

Yea it's fairly high in the system about 10cm below the cap on what looks like a thermostat housing, however my system is bled so theoretically it shouldn't be an issue. I should mention the system has only done this on very hot days or very long drives, it did manage a Sydney to Newcastle trip just fine not too long ago but on the other occasion I got that hot reading.

I  may clean the sensor plug just in case but I've managed to secure a cheap alloy radiator off an ex-forum member. The brand is Fenix, if this solves the problem I'll be happy, if not I won't be out of pocket $500 for a new one.

I've had a very similar problem before, try putting in a new thermostat.

Yea that sounds like a good idea anyway because I've never replaced it and they're as cheap as chips. Will report back once its been changed.

Make sure you get an OEM thermostat, they are cheaper than generic ones anyways. Have you checked hose temperature either side of radiator?
