Hey guys,
I recently picked up a new gearbox and I'm trying to save some money and change it over myself, has anyone done it themselves and can offer up some advise on how to go about it, or seen and videos on doing it?? any help would be greatly appreciated.

In my opinion it's much easier to remove the engine to do the job, it's not a hard job to do yourself, I'm sure there will be a lot over advice on offer from here :-)

Don't remove engine, can be done quite easily just by jacking up passenger side of engine & supporting it.
I have done maybe 4 times now, & can be done in approx 40mins (with out hoist, but with the right tools that is).

Its a lot easier if you have an assistance (mate) help, save a lot of time aligning stuff & so one.

Hey Joker, you may be interested in this article, although it refers to changing the clutch.

Unfortunately I'm in Adelaide, otherwise be happy to lend a hand.  Just take your time when doing it, hardest most annoying part of the job is probably the bloody clutch slave cylinder disconnection.

Yeah that would have been awesome, I bought this car three weeks ago and was intending on doing most of the work myself but when looking around forums most people were recommending removing the engine it started putting me off the idea
