Hi folks, looks like i'm rebuilding a 3-rib bigport motor..

went down to repco today and they told me no one will have the parts for these earlier motors.
so i'm wondering if anyone here has any good places to go to find the bearings i need (40mm vs 42mm) also thought on the way home since these blocks are very similar to the 4AC motors whether simply getting a set of bearings
for that motor would do the job.

aim is to end up with a stock motor with a bit of extra comp. from a skimmed head and thinner gasket with some better accessories.. lightweight pulleys, better spark plugs etc.

any advice on where to find parts for these early motors would be appreciated.

Cheers

Any engine building shop will be able to order you the correct bearings. Or try other auto shops, Autopro, Bursons, and Peps in NSW can get bearings for these engines. PresionInternational is the main engine parts supplier most auto places use. you can jump on their website and get part numbers.

you can use 4AC bearings but I do believe 4AC's have full groove shells rather than half groove shells and don't take the load while revving up as well as the half groove.

Precision are great if you have an account, if you want a second option on brand or confirmation on part numbers Nason engine parts and machinery will also have the business you are looking for including aftermarket upgrades
