i thought i might update my thread i started taking the engine apart
i took the intake mani and exhaust/turbo AND IT WAS A PAIN. I snapped like 5 bolts and rounded almost all the bolt had to drill almost all the exhaust bolts. intake was simple tho

then i took the head off and started taking it apart

i took the starter then the gear box off next, the starter was a bit of a P.I.T.A had to bash it with a hammer and jiggle it out. gear box pretty easy  just undid the bolts and jiggled it out

then the crank pulley bolt clutch and fly wheel

the pulley bolt was hard to take off what i did was i put a vice grip on the fly wheel so it can stop the engine from turning
This is what i mean (not my picture)

Then i used a breaker bar and a long pipe to undo the bolt. i had to sit on the engine (it was moving when i tried to unbolt it) while my girlfriend basically sat on the pipe to get it undone but we got it done. it probably looked quite funny should have taken a picture lol

first i want to clean every thing there's so much oil and grim on the engine and every thing around it. Even tho the engine has only 100,000km on it all the oil seals or shot. im not doing a full rebuild but i want all new oil seals, gaskets mls head gasket, bearings, piston rings, arp head studs, timing belt and distributor cap and rotor. but i don't want do any machine work to it unless i really have to. it a bit off a budget build

what ever money i get out off selling parts of the wrecked car i'm putting it back into the engine or to buy tools that i need

i already bought a torque wrench, breaker bar, 30mm long socked, 12 point allen thing for the head bolts, valve spring compressor and a engine stand that i haven't used yet u can see it in the last picture. so my tool collection have grown bigger

Nice work, always good to give it a freshen up. If u put new rings in, wont you have to hone the cylinder bores? You can get those and diy on the end of a drill. Could give ports a bit of a cleanup to get rid of the casting marks etc too
