jeez.. sure took your time to get that in... :p
before you go driving it, maybe pass the bottom seatbelt mount bolt through the hole on the right there..? (same as the catch that would be at your left hip - pass it through that hole?)

Yeh, didnt take too long for the first one, the mounts are slightly different from an ae86 and my dad had an old mount so we modified that to fit, after using it for a week it wasnt positioned right and felt a bit flimsy.

So this weekend we put together a nice strong mount out of box tube and 5mm steel, soo much better

Latest update for the car is that ive started an engine rebuild.

The car has been blowing smoke for a while, we did the valve stem seals first which didnt fix the problem.

Had the car at sandown and after one session it developed a rattle and seemed to loose power.
Managed to limp it home doing 80kph, been sending free time since then taking it apart and getting things checked out.

Found one of the big end bearings had allot of wear and all the oil rings had lost tension. Looks like the engine had not been apart before for doing 260k was in good condition, no damage done to the crank or bores which was good.

Got the head reconditioned:

Inlet cleaned of oil build up

Also had injectors serviced, starter motor and radiator reconditioned

Yeh, rebuild is going well, doing bits here and there, im lucky enough to have a father who was a mechanic for many years so i can manage to do it on the cheap side where i can.

The head was done at M&W Engine Services in Ballarat, for just the recondition of the head was $450.

I got a head gasket set through them for $170, head bolt kit for $22 and got the inlet cleaned for $30. All up with GST was $745

Hopefully back on the track/road soon
