Well I'm getting more done on this car than the MR2 at the moment so I thought I'd make a thread for it. I forgot how simple and fun the 4AGE is to work on.

Bought for $1100! It was a bargain. 266,000km and it shows but the engine's still going strong. It's leaking like a sieve at the moment but I'm slowly getting through them. Had a chronic distributor leak from the shaft that required stripping the dizzy and rebuilding it. Valve cover gaskets are a work in progress while I hot tank the valve covers on the kitchen stove

Got a new thermostat ready to go in. Shocks are all blown so it's a bit of a boat. But they'll get fixed in due course. Parts are so cheap and available for these things, refreshing after mucking about with a V6 SW20 for the last 12 months.

Water

It didn't work but I thought I'd give it a go. Oven cleaner worked a lot better then I used the hot water for rinsing.

Awesome! Their such great fun for daily duties. I had one for about four years but got bored and went with a late 80's ford laser turbo. Had nothing but trouble with it and now wish I still had the Corolla. This was mine!
