IMPORTANT ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

1. Our final destination at the end of the run/cruise/moving light and sound show is by the seaside, so to end the night properly and reward everyone for particpating the Run Manager is going to provide dessert in the form of coffee/tea and really nice cake. So, if you are coming you won't have to buy any sweets at the Diner or have them before you arrive. However, given the limited space available for carrying stuff (and the even more limited space in Spyder's ), the Run Manager has asked if you could all bring a thermos with hot water for the drinks. Cups, plates, spoons, etc; will all be provided so we don't make a mess.

2. The gathering at the Diner is starting at 6.30pm for those who need food, but for those who aren't eating there if you can arrive by 7.30pm we will be starting the Run as soon as possible after this time. There are some night roadworks going on around the city so it would be better if we could get away ASAP after everyone gets there.

3. If you do have UHF hand held radios then please bring them. The route plan allows for what we are calling "gathering points" so if we get broken up by traffic or lights then we have places to stop at to get back together. A detailed Run Sheet and briefing will be provided to all drivers before we start.

See you all there.

Eric,

sorry your Dad can't work out that the first Queensland MR2 Night Run is much more important than that other thing he does - what was that, oh OK, work??
Don't worry, there are plenty more Runs planned - have a look at the Run Calendar for 2012 at the top of the Queensland part of the Forum and you will see what we are doing.
We alternate between Saturdays and Sundays so everyone gets a chance to come along.
Your Dad and you are always welcome to participate. If you have any questions on the Club just PM either myself or Groper and we will try to answer them for you.
Hope to meet you soon,

Regards,
Walter

The first MR2 night run in Brisbane is over.

I'd like to thank everyone who came, it was a great roll-up, and no doubt Lumix will be sharing his splendid photography with us.
We can't wait to see how the two yellows surrounded by a sea of red and black, and the lone white Adub, will look all parked together at Manly.
The weather was fantastic, the night was warm enough to have the roof off, and the route took in both the city and the coast.
There was some additional excitment towards the end when the Run Manager decided to deviate from the Run Sheet and detour via Tasmania but GPS saved the day very quickly.
Topped off with coffee, chocolate bavarian cheescake, and some excellent conversation at the end of the Run (plus some jokes about engineers) it was a fitting way to end the week.

For those folks who couldn't make it you missed a really different Run, but one we will no doubt be doing again.
Thanks again to all who attended and made the night the success it was.

Bustin,
that's OK.
We all understand that back in the old days when dinosaurs and huge Yank Tanks roamed the earth you used to Cruise, but cruising is so yesterday and MR2 Runs are much more up to date and very different (and heaps better).    Plus the people who come to Runs are so much more cool.
Sorry you couldn't make the Run but we will have others because it was a real success.
We took a decision last night about the All Japanese Day which I am sure you will be very happy with, so from now on you won't be alone.
Tralfaz

No bubbles were burst by the previous posting.
