I decided to go with the Exedy. Flywheel im still on the fence . Ever since i had the Beams i have been with the Toda flywheel. So i really dont know what real difference there was with the stock one. Since it will have more power im actually leaning towards the OEM or a Billet one.

Just a progress post

You have to love these 5 axis CNC machines. Here is the bracket after 6 hours machining

This is a stock Rod Top Beams flywheel it looks different to a normal 3SGE N/A i think.

Well the turbo cover plate is bigger than the N/A as i thought i remember reading

Here it is the Exedy, as i said looks exactly like the TRD one

This is the clutch cushioned button Exedy. Dont know if its available in the American or overseas market ?

Here you can see the cushion

As i said i will be using the OEM Flywheel.

Yeah the stock gen2 3sge flywheel looks quite different to the one pictured.
It doesn't have the perimeter relief between the clutch plate mounting points, and weighs just over 7 kgs.
What does the beams flywheel weigh?

On my bath room scales :) looks like b/w 5 - 6 kgs

You know this FW is of the clip i first bought and never looked at it. If i knew it was like this i would not have used the Toda

Just checked YEP the Beams has a lighter and different flywheel. Another modification now recorded that is different.

However all the Turbo flywheels are the same

shame the beams has the same clutch as the 3sge, otherwise it'd be a nice easy uprgade for FW for turbo's. might go chuck my FW on the baby scales, be slightly more accurate.

This is how you convert a 42 Kgs block of Aluminium 6061 into a 1.8 Kg bracket

This time around ill be using a double row bearing idler/tensioner. I dont like the free play of the single row. Most likely use the idler from the timing belt.
