LOLLOLOLOLLLLOOOOOLLLL actually I set mine up 'deadhead' styles when I did my conversion.  I however used a 3 port reg.

Where did you get it? The only ones I've seen are for ****ty carbies and were over priced.

Tinkering with some ITB ideas again. 3D printer FTW!

Knocked up a quick flange test to see if I had the port shape right and the mounting bolts.

Then I knocked up a quick proto to get the angles right and see how I could blend the oval port into a round port to suit a GSXR600 throttle body.

Found some issues, updated the design and put it into the oven to cook (3D Printer)

5hrs, 41mins to print the above.... Should be done around 1am.

No rest for a mad scientist...

Fresh out of the printer and a throttlebody mounted into it.

Braved the cold and headed out to the shed for a quick dummy fit. Comparinson of the first proto and the new one, angle for the throttle body is nicer, but still needs work on the injector placement and angle. Might just have to use the GSXR injector port at worse.

Looking at the center line of the motor (the heater pipe) it should easily fit two banks of ITB's without collision on this design.

Slapped one of my original velocity stack prints I did for a visual.

Will get some sleep and see what I can come up with tomorrow night....

Can you offset the throttle bodies to the left and right so they fit in between the throttle bodies on the opposite bank? It would give you more room for the fuel rails and injectors and cut down on the height. Might make the linkages interesting though.

I could be done, but it's more hassle then I'm interested in dealing with.

I'd love to have a reason to buy a 3d printer. Looks like great fun!

Let's assume you'll eventually come up with a perfect design for the TB adapters and stacks, is there a material you can print with that would enable you to print the actual end product? That could withstand the heat, vibration and also insulate the TBs from the heads etc?
Or would it be a case of having the parts cnc milled by others?

The 3D printer I have is a PP3DP UP Mini, they are now as low as $650 here.
The printer prints with an ABS plastic filament and I'm not sure how it would go in the environment of an engine. I'm happy to build a test type with them to ensure the design works, but the eventual plan is to have a go at sand casting some from aluminium or even polyurethane. To CNC them, I would need access to a 5 axis CNC mill, which I currently don't have and don't have contacts with anyone who does :(

Anyway, I've been wussing out on doing any work this week since it has been arctic cold in the shed, however I was gifted with some warm weather tonight.

Grinder time, Bitches!

Traced the cardboard template onto the steel.

Then cut it out with the grinder.

Quick test fit to make sure I hadn't goofed up.

Then started on the other side, adding the few modification I didn't have in the cardboard template.

Few differences as you can see once it was cut out

Both plates drop into position

Now I just need to space them evenly, make some cross supports, tack weld it all together and see how it fits.
Then it's welding time followed by some tidy up work (sealer & paint)
