So are you fabbing up your own mounts for the chassis from scratch, or have you bought a fitting kit from woodsport etc?

Great work mate. Really looking forward to seeing this working. If I cannot use the itb's I bought, it will be ready in kit form to bolt straight onto your engine. Happy to let you do so just for kicks.

Forgot to throw this up the other night. Welded together a small frame to hang the motor from, just waiting for the gearbox mount to arrive from B24 so I can add the final engine to frame parts and position it correctly.
 

 
@B24: If you cannot use the ITB's on the 2GR (without destroying them), let me know, I'll happily buy them off you :)

Thanks to B24 for lending me his gearbox mount! Will be able to start aligning the motor in the engine bay and cutting/welding the mounts shortly.
 

 

 
With all the talk of ITB's bouncing around the forums lately, I decided to quickly pull out some of my "ITB Parts"...
 
So I slapped together some GSXR600 throttle bodies, a spare 3d printed velocity stack and instantly some problems arise.



Fuel injectors will crash into the head, velocity stacks will touch and the injector angle is pretty ****.
 
So I added some other parts and started looking into adjusting the angles.






As seen, crossing sword style ITB's are destined to crash into each other.
 
Even using a smaller velocity stack

 
I'm also not keen on the injector angle, so I started looking at if I was to abandon the bike throttles and build my own, allowing a lower mounted fuel rail which would let the injectors fire the fuel directly at the back of the valve.


 
Even a custom, single fuel rail could possibly be done.

 
So over the next couple of months, while I'm working on getting the 1MZ running in the car, I'll tinker around with 3D printing prototype ITB's and fuel rails to test fit to the 3MZ motor on the stand.

Been side tracked lately, specifically when I chucked the TrackDubs fueltank and new Walbro pump into the SlushDub and fired it up!
 

 
So now that it starts, runs, the auto and motor in relatively good condition, it's time to start working on putting it back together for a road worthy. Looking forward to having a daily AW11 again.
 
Today was a chance to get back to the TrackDub and do some work on it. First up, I made the decisiion it's time to deregister this car and focus on making it purely track only. This allows me to spend the funds on registering the SlushDub instead, while dodging the hassles of getting defected for the extensive mods that I'm doing to the TrackDub. I can also now make no comprimises with modifications since I don't have to worry about it being on the street and can remove a lot more weight from it.
 
So the plates and sticker came off.

 
I picked up a cheap moving trolley from Supercheap and slapped some plywood on it to sit the 1MZFE onto and get it level.

 
Which allows me to push the motor around the engine bay while holding it at the correct height. This worked out a lot better then the engine cradle I knocked up to hang the motor. Bonus is because the motor sits on the sump and diff, it levels the motor pretty damn close to how it should be in the car (diff end still needs lifted ~15mm).
 



 
No photos to show it, but I currently have the left driveshaft bolted in and attached to the gearbox, I just have to do the supported drive shaft on the right side. Then I can see what the driveshaft angles are and tack weld in the gearbox mount.
 

Got a little side tracked today when I spotted this at my local parts store...

20L fuel cell, with anti-slosh foam, electric level, dual AN10 suction ports and dual AN10 return ports.
 
At first it didn't really fit.

 
Dave101 said I should roof mount it...

 
But I decided the 6lber would be able to make things fit a bit better.

 
Then it fitted nicely.

 
And the bonnet with the mega scoop could still close!

 
So a quick run back to the parts store for some odds and ends.


 
A quick shower of sparks with the grinder and a few hits with the metal glue gun and these mounting rails were slapped together.

 
Now the left over steel tab will get hammered and shaped against the body, then welded into place.


 
Will be tack welding it into place tomorrow, checking the align is 100%, then welding it and throwing a quick lick of paint on it to stop rust.

Picked up a Nardi steering wheel for the SlushDub.

 
Should go nicely with  the rest of the restoration planned.

Another pay day, another spending spree.

Made myself a returnless system for the 1MZFE.
