Well the Kosei K4R's come in at $904 shipped. Still cheaper then a set of Enkei wheels, but not cheap enough to change my mind over the R1FT's.

Well I managed to do a shuffle of cars and get the TrackDub into the garage to work on it.
It starts, it idles, it revs and looks 100% good, until touch the brake pedal or turns the lights on or hit the wiper switch... Then it splutters and stalls. I found a couple of rather melted earth wires on the ECU loom that bolts to the head, so I assume there is a seriously big earth loop issue here somewhere. Will work on that more during the week.

In other news, I need to get a shed fast...

Yep, that's my lounge room. 3x project cars worth of parts...

I've started stripping the Camry E153 I bought last year to get the necessary parts out of it that I need for my close ratio E153 gearbox. My usual trick of pulling the bell housing off to remove the diff doesn't seem to work with the E153 due to some internal oil pipes, so it looks like I have to go the hard way through. Going to build a gear puller tomorrow for the 5th gear and start stripping it.

With the fact that this is a Camry gearbox with a LSD fitted to it and with the fact the syncros look really clean, I'm assuming this gearbox has been rebuilt at some stage. So depending what the LSD is (VLSD or clutch pack) it looks to be quite the little golden egg...

When the ST185 twin pot and SW20 22V brakes went on, it left the car with a rather soft, lackluster pedal feel due to the now undersized master cylinder. Today I've rectified that by purchasing a 1" Hilux master cylinder off ebay and will fit it this weekend.
Hopefully this will give the brakes the a much firmer pedal feel for when I take the car out to Norwell Raceway in April for the Downshift Track Battle.

1" brake master has arrived, installing it tonight!

In other news, the bearings for the ZZW30 LSD arrived today (to match the C60 gearbox) along with the drive shaft seals, so I'll pick them up tomorrow and start building my 6-speed gearbox!

Looks like your having a ton of fun up there!
Wheels look great. Option 2 is my preference.
When changing the gearset, make sure you use all the reverse gears from one or the other.

Picked up the bearings and seals for the 6-speed today. Big thanks to Paul Woods @ Woodsport for sharing the part numbers.

With these in hand, I can start assembling the gearbox

Installing the Hilux master cylinder was a breeze, about 15-20mins work tops.

It just needs a small tweak to the brake lines due to the lines connecting to the master horizontally, while the stock one is more 45 degrees in from the top. (shown below)

There is now more space between the tank on the master cylinder and my strut brace, so it's actually easier to get a bottle of fluid in there to top it up.

After the master cylinder install, I started looking into the electrical issue that forced me to bring the TrackDub home on a trailer a few weekends back. Now after having it start and run the other day, today it was back to just cranking and no firing... So I started pulling the loom out and it wasn't long before I found this.

Now it's not heat damage, as it's sitting above the gearbox, but something has pulled a lot of amps through that wire and melted it, and then it has corroded further and started shorting and causing issues. So just need to remove the rest of the loom now and I'll work on requiring the whole earth setup to some bigger gauge wire and try to see what circuits could have pulled all the power though it. Well I've run out of light in the driveway/garage today to keep working on wiring, so I might go back to working on this for a while.
