I believe Steve has chosen to go with these

48mm GSXR1300R Hyabusa throttles, which are very modular, easy to work with and go for as low as $100/set.

They can easily be setup for a V6, in fact this is what I have done with mine (using 38mm GSXR750 throttles)

With a simple flange and some welding you can fit them like this

And the final product

What power gain did you get with your setup over the origional engine?

The last two photos are not of my setup. They belong to LimeyMk1 from TwoBrutal, his build thread with ITB's starts here - http://www.twobrutal.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?7053-Here-goes!-Limey-s-Swap/page16

He has a dyno graph here:

IIRC, most stock 1MZ's put down around 145-150RWHP, so it seems to have some gains to it.

Thanks for all that mate. Certainly some food for thought.

After spending the weekend at the Bathurst 12hr I managed to spend time at the Donut King garage and get some facts and figures on the 2GR. The Lotus Elise runs a 2GR with a Harrop Supercharger with 8psi producing 420 hp all day long for the 12hr race. Track temp was 56 degrees, ambient temp was 36 degrees. Car ran with no issue for the entire weekend. There was also talk of results of the following: rising the boost and E85 which then produced 680hp.
Massive power but not required for my application.
This car also runs a single throttle body which looked like 75mm.
Even with the 420hp it was very quick. A estimate of 260 kph on Conrod straight as it was a little slower than the GT3 cars.
It also won its class which is a thumbs up for Neil and the crew who prepped and maintained the car for the weekend.

The Lotus uses the Harrop HTV1320 supercharger.

Only $2750 if you get bored....

I can vouch for the Harrop blowers effectiveness :)

No boosting after the 3SGTE drama. Thanks, but not this time around.

I never found out what happened to your last 3SGTE. What went wrong?

I ran out of patience. Aside from the new turbo core letting go and breaking the camels back I was sick of being ripped off by tuners/fabricators and everything to do with a modified turbo charged car. Gives me the %#^& thinking about it.
Then the V6 option came up, so I took it. It was that or sell the car and buy an esky. I will have less power but less weight and a simple system compared to managing the turbo.
All the wiring is completely removed along with the engine/gearbox so I will be rehashing the car yet again.
