SRF is indeed the best - but please explain to readers why it cannot be dropped straight into any braking system...

Because of the S in SRF

Silicone Racing Fluid

It adversely affects the rubber components
leading to brake failure.

ONLY systems designed for DOT5 should use it.

For MR2s use DOT3,DOT4 OR DOT5.1

I no longer work for Toyota Trav. As you would know from BMW, often the worst part of being a mechanic is the customers. I got fed up with the same poo poo, plus a bit of change in management, and i decided to move on.

What makes you think Chasers??

$100 a litre is OK. Same price as ELF($48 per 500ml).
I run the Alcon/wilwood race spec superlites for the caliper department and tilton master cylinders so they may be OK. I will check to make sure.
As for the titanium shims, I will look into this at some stage too. I think it has titanium pistons but will also have to check on this too.

The supplier of the brakes also noted the ducting and location which is as you have stated. I picked up some 3" ducting but will not fit so have to source 2" to make it through the gaps. Another thing on the list..

Thanks for the advise

The titanium pistons are usually pretty easy to spot, as the whole piston isn't made from titanium, usually it will just be the tips of the pistons that come into contact with the pads. You can tell pretty easily, as shown on the brembo caliper on the left, as opposed to the AP caliper on the right:

If the caliper pistons have the titanium inserts in them, the backing shims for the pads won't be necissary.

Finally picked up the front tie rod links to all but remove bump steer on the MR2.
The goal was to have the links follow the line of the lower control arm but looks like I have made these 5mm too short to suit the 32mm RCA's. I can move to a smaller RCA to correct it but first try it out to see what happens.
This pic is the comparison between the first upgrade and my new high tensile custom units. These are a harder steel than the orginal units.

This is the before and after shot of installation. The changes are obvious. Was pretty excited when I picked these up then installed this afternoon.

Also received the new inlet flange for the plenum. Now this was quite a little gift too!
More information on the build is also found in the Engines / Exhausts / Gearboxes / Differentials
thread.
