Flywheel problem solvered. Took the flywheel down to a bloke Tuesday afternoon. I had the flywheel back Wednesday, now fits on the 5sfe crank.

Finally, transmission has successfully been fitted. I cheated a little when torquing up the top cover because I don't have a 3/8" drive torque wrench and nor could I find a 1/2" to 3/8" reducer so I just did them up to my understanding of ~14.5ft/lbs (probably a little over this actually). If I come back complaining of a stray clutch cover then we all know why, haha.

Anyway, finally, a clutch I've been able to make fit! Oh, and it took all of 5 minutes to fit (the transmission that is), unlike the hours of struggle previously.

HOORAYYYYYY!!!

Not sure what was done there,
but as long as the starter can still throw out onto the flywheels teeth
it looks like your ready to nestle that assembly into the bay.
To finish off the peripherals (like the oil cooler and fuel lines)

Hurry up, I'm waiting to here your opinion on what that diff is like.

I'll let you know how it feels, unfortunately its been so long since I've driven with the viscous LSD I dont think I'll be able to give an accurate comparison. I do vaguely remember how it responded under most conditions though. Hopefully have it running soon enough, alas, im lacking motivation at the moment though, if I am alone, I tend to get nothing done. Any Brisvegas guys wanna come keep me company (and perhaps lend a hand, however, this isn't really required). :D

Well, got off my arse tonight and decided to do something. Thought I'd begin the adventure of mutilating the factory loom, keeping necessary parts like speedo, cluster sensors, alternator control, starter motor control, fan control, and so on and so forth.

From this:

To this:

And the leftovers:

Might all look very simple, but I can assure you its not, everything is intertwined and joins to everything else. You need to know exactly what you can chop (don't need) and what you can't. Connectors need to be depinned to untangle the wires from the rest of the loom. Being 15 year old the plastic is a little worse for wear - things end up cracking and breaking. Working off of memory alone when it comes to reinserting pins into connectors is also probably fairly foolish. Luckily I've got another car here with a complete loom I can refer to tomorrow to ensure I haven't mixed up any positive (or switched positive) wires with grounds on the connectors - this situation would be absolutely disastrous.

Anyway, fair 4 hours work I think. The actual wiring of the autronic universal flying lead loom will be a sinch in comparison. XY goes to FD, etc etc. Merely connect the dots and loom it up.

Anywho, bed time now!
