I got a phone call today to go and pick something I ordered up...

If anyone that remembers  that big floormat cock up a couple of years ago, I found the place and got some of my own made. $80 but good quality and I am pretty happy with the result.  The MR2 logo is in silver and the foot rest has the Toyota Logo on it. (I didnt ask for it but I think it still looks good)

I have also added what my centre panel now looks like.  It is actual carbon fibre and is from CarBenFibre Creations and they are 52mm gauge holes. He does everything in the interior in a carbon fibre overlay.  2 problems tho...

1 it is a bit pricey,
2 he is in the UK so its the reason its so pricey.

The speedo is from Dyl and the backing is silver too. Enjoy!

Also...how much do you think the washer jets for the front bonnet are? From Toyota may I add...

$27.50...each! Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

I bought the same carbon three gauge holder from the UK as well, then realised my gauges are 60mm

What brand gauges did you end up with?

Still waiting on the sidskirts....however.

Yesterdays efforts:

Where the hoses to and from the heat exchanger now go.  Drilled and dremmeled the hole.  Has clearance from headlight too.

Pump will be mounted about where it is now.  Need to shorten the hose leading to the back of the car.

Today's mission mounting this into the old intercooler location. The fan shroud that I had for the Greddy cooler is a perfect fit for this.

I also picked up an OEM crash bar.  I didnt have one, so hopefully mounting the Heat Exchanger will be simple now. One of the mounting tabs I got was broken, so had to use the cable tie.  Wont see it under the front bar though.

14/1:

So my sideskirts are finally on their way. But trying to d some other things to keep this moving along...

I degreased the engine today and my god I have never seen so much flith in my life.  Good news is I can now see the color of my gearbox isn't black like once thought.

Anyway, my bumper and front lip were pretty ****ed up.  Sanded the lip back to plastic and the bumper down to having no scratches or blemishes.  Will be bogged and fibreglassed tomorrow, not having a front crashbar all these years has made the top of the bumper sag.  So need to stiffen it up a little.

Picked up a Greddy oil filter relocation kit on the cheap and have mounted it where the cruise control used to be.  As much as I wanted to keep it. Meh, might try hook it up at a later date.  The mounts have been painted black now and I think the whole thing looks ridiculous! Will eventually be braided hoses to and from oil cooler.  They are in the back ground.

Where the oil cooler will live from now on.  Using the same fan and shroud that was on the old intercooler. Perfect fit!

Had a bit of practice with the paint today and figured out how the car will need to be painted.  The car will be this color when its done.  Did this by sanding and sandblasting this badboy today.

in Primer

First coat, bitta purple.

Pearl coat, bitta blue/end result!

Pictures don't do justice how amazing this color is!  I cant wait.

Oh almost forgot, test fit of my new leather seat covers...need to fill them up with a bit.

Where did you source the seat covers from?

A guy on eBay. Maybe proseat? They fit really tight. But because my seats are old and lost the thickness of the foam its a little saggy at the seatbelt.  But some extra padding from clark rubber I think could sort it out.

Good work.

Wouldnt you be better off mounting the remote filter upside down so it doesnt make a mess when you remove it?

Cheers
