Wow you have done a great job and so quick. I need to put up a post on my new turbo addition. Be interested in seeing the car with new mags. May see you at the QLD Nats?

Rick, this is the green one.  The car has since been sold to my friend Lee (you met him last month at Mallala), but I cant stop working on it :-)

Great effort and result, well done!

What is the boost gauge, doesn't look to be usual omori that comes in the smaller size?

Cheers

Ok. a good friend of mine now owns this mr2.  Done approx 3000kms since rebuild with no problems at all.

In preparation for Mallala this saturday, I borrowed his car so I could fill it up (fuel) along with a few gerry cans... as he didnt have time (work committments, etc).

Car as usual ran perfectly all day did approx 120kms in it, returned back home to its destination, parked & switched off.

Returned back to the car approx 2hrs later, tried to start it & it would crank, want to go, but not enough to maintain an idle??? (like it was trying to run on 2 cylinders).

After having a quick look around the engine bay all visually looked fine, vac lines, piping etc.
I immediately started replacing the usual stuff (process of elimination) plugs, leads, check dissy cap / rotor etc - issue remained after each swap out.
Im now suspecting maybe its either the coil or ignitor or both??  I've also looped over the Fuel pump to ensure its working, but again no difference.

Total bummer, as I dont have anytime left today to work on it & my mate (Lee) as you can imagine is cut up he is going to miss tomorrows practise day at Mallala.

Any ideas, or quick checks I may have missed?
