UPDATE TIME. nearly 3 years later and i started the build yesterday, dropped the motor/rear sub frame/ shocks in just over 2 hours. anyway ill let the pics do the talking.

One problem is that when i bought most of my engine parts nearly 3 years ago i did not check everything, they sent me out RB26 main studs, which sucks, but if they wont replace them no biggie cause theRB26 cost nearly 3x more.

Another is the cheap thin paper gaskets the "cometic" kit comes with. they look terrible, might have to buy some OEM ones for a few things.

Had a look at my rear brakes because my rear left wheel was heating up when driving, the piston looked nasty, all clogged up with rusty old grease mess, pulled both rear calipers apart and gave them a clean/re grease

The good old standing in engine bay pic

motor looked ok a bit of carbon here and there, the water galleries were clogged up a bit, prob due to lack of service, (was holding out to do this build, turns out took a bit longer than planned) hehe

Went to check the cams and found that i had 2 intake cams in the box, at first i was pissed but after someone told me that the BC cams are like that and doing my own research i cant find anything that says its not, if anyone who has installed BC cams before could let me know cheers.

All this took a day, very impressed with my brother who is helping me out, anyone who watched MCM might reconise the garage. we also had a 1JZ there so we popped it in for some pics, TROLL the internet for a day, it went nuts on MR2OC. haha we tried to fit a 1UZ but couldn't get it in there.

Next is waiting to sort out main stud issue then off to machine shop.

Turbosmart shared it on their fb. It's so funny. I mean it's not impossible but prob going cost like 50k to just get it to fit with custom gearbox and everything that goes with it. Cause there is a pic of the motor sitting in Bay some people actually believe it. My bro posted it on a public fb page so it's getting around now. Lol

Alot of aftermarket cams have the same duration and lift for int and exh, so essentially they are the same cam. Just the intake one needs the slot for the dizzy. You just locate the dowels for the cam gear in the right hole to make one an exhuadt cam.

Fyi, the oem gen2 3sge comes with 2 intake cams, in that the exh cam has the slot for the dizzy too. Identical specs.

I sent an email off the realstreetperformance.com where I bought the parts from and also bc, bc got back to me and are sending out new cams. That's all they said. So that's fine. The cams only have 1 locator pin. And so does the hks cam gears I have, there is adjustment in the cam gears but I'm not sure enough to get correct timing. Anyway all sorted now anyway. Definitely recommend bc for their excellent customer service.

I bought a LSD gearbox to replace my non LSD one, but it was a celica one so i had to swap over the linkages, i went this way because it was a cheaper option and I am keeping the original box in case of issues i can rebuild that one to my liking and when i can afford too, its not a hard job to do but did take a bit longer than I thought. also cant work on a car with an empty beer fridge.

All done, the boot was a bit torn so put a bit of tape on to stop dirt getting in.
