A pressure test but you will most likely need to take it somewhere for that.

Yeah it's a bit of a pain to get a hand on one of those combustion leak test kits with the dye that changes colour ;./

you will  not neccessarily find coolant leaking onto the floor, most of the time it gets evaporated while its spewing out or trapped under the plastic undertrays and not leak onto the floor, its happened to me before.
if your running the toyota red coolant then look for white coloured stains on the cooling system as this indicates a coolant leak/spill
but as others have said, the water temp has nothing to do with the intercooler fan not running.
if your fan problem still persists have a look at what i have done in my intercooler fan thread
http://www.mr2australia.com/mr2play/tm.aspx?&m=55090&high=intercooler+fan&mpage=3
last page has the fix for it.
cheers

Your talking about something different.

It goes on to the radiator cap and you can pressure rise the cooling system while looking for coolant leaking. With this the engine can be cold so you dont have to worry about being burnt while looking
