Maybe not actually.

Running it with the transmission inspection plate off makes it considerably louder.
The pitch of the sound is quite different with the clutch not fitted
It so clearly coming from the bellhousing

It's gotta be a flywheel problem... but the flywheel isn't showing any signs of rubbing!

DIdn't think it was internal
Very strange. Try another flywheel? or even invest in an aftermarket/lighter one?

Looking at $600 for an after market flywheel. What's to say that I won't experience the same problem with another flywheel? If only 3vz/1mz flywheels weren't so hard to find

What's to say you will IF it is the flywheel? maybe the 'Precision Machining' place ruined it?
600 bucks seems excessive though

Only got two options, fidanza and xtreme. Both $550.

MIght be the best $550 you've ever spent if its the flywheel causing the horrid noise

I wish it wasn't an IF. The box has to come off again. I'll go over the flywheel with a fine toothed combe this time, it wasn't the original suspect so it didn't get the attention that the pressure plate/release bearing did. I really want to find metal gouged out of the thing so I know for sure.
