I got them from ebay, but replaced the globes with orange LED bulbs...had them for three years and never popped out or had any dramas.

... there's so many cops out there with different ideas and different levels of, um, 'motivation??' when it comes to ADR's and modded cars. Many times I have heard tales of some general duties cop going nuts with defects on a car that really wasn't too bad, or some highway patrol cop with a chip on his shoulder writing out the big blue sheet with any little thing they feel isn't right.  That or the cop giving the nod of approval to sensible street mods that are cool and safe. Less obvious attention on the outside is a good thing. I can't see you'd get in trouble for slightly smoked lights (definately not headlights!) but the darker you go the more chance you have. Then the engine lid comes up, then there's the pod, then there's the a pillar gauges, then there's the ground clearance....

Very true...also just check in your state or territory about vehicle requirements.

I didnt smoke my rear tail lights either. That would be stupid.

Yeah I get it... im going to be keeping the car pretty stock as its a daily. Were the ones that you got from eBay the same as the ones I linked before?

They look similar...i got mine from the UK from a seller who was selling the Toyota clear ones - make sure they have parking lights/lenses.

Hmmm sounds tempting, but these ones are so cheap, plus I really like the smoked look. It suits a darker car like mine better...

Yep just ask the seller if those indicators include the parking light/lenses in the whole lense. Then just swap out the crappy bulbs they send with some LED orange ones for the indicator and LED white ones for the parking one.
 
Or you could save yourself the hassle and buy DB8's clear ones.
 
 

just a note on the LED indicators, i'm not sure if anyone else has this issue.
I replaced the indicators with LEDs and the speed at which the indicators work almost tripled,
Someone told me it has to do with wattage rating of LED vs normal coz you are pumping more electricity into a smaller volt rating? Correct me i'm wrong
 
Apart from that, only the parker lights is all good with LEDs

Just spoke to a very understanding guy from vicroads about the legality of all this. Basically he said, that if a lens has some sort of rating on it like e approval then its very likely that it will be fine for ADR. What he said though is that there can't be any guarantee unless you contact the manufacturer and get it in writing from them that it would pass ADR requirements. He also said that its very likely that they would know if it did or didn't.
It was a breath of fresh air to have someone that was so helpful and understanding from Vicroads, this shows the system isn't 100% broke. He even laughed when i told him that the ADR redirects you to VSI10 regarding indicators, but VSI10 isn't anywhere to be found! Even he couldn't find it!
So, I'll do i little more poking and prodding around and let you all know!
