BC BR Series Coilovers
 
I'd like to get the preload dialed in before I install.
What Pre-load settings have people gone with front and rear?
Are there any other adjustments that I should look at pre/post install?

Hey DVS,
I've had mine back for a couple of weeks now with the BC BR's in, loving them.
I'm pretty sure mine went in as they arrived but could be wrong. I'm going to try and get along to the Sydney wednesday meet (if I'm right it's 2nd wednesday of each month, somewhere near Rhodes?) if that's any help to you. Other than that, I've softened the rear damping a bit relative to front, seemed to be the consensus out there. (Mine 8 front/12 rear for now, pending track day soon).

I'd stick with the BC 4mm preload & start with the damper settings mentioned in the other thread. Make sure you get a proper wheel alignment too of course before tampering with the damper settings more. Any variance would probably more driver preference.

I just fitted a set of BC BR series coilovers, I found a video from BC America, bit of a joke for setting preload. I set up with 4mm preload like I have always done with motorcross and high end downhill mt bikes, 4mm not enough, bounced all over the place even with high compression set up. I have 7mm, set up from when the adjusting nut just starts to load spring, feels great now. Video shows you to do up adjuster until you cant turn by hand easily, big problem here, not all people have hands and arms like pixies lol. Should be from when adjusting nut just loads shock.

I usually set them with 6-8mm preload when I have installed them in customers cars. any less and they tend to bounce, and if you over preload them, they bind and unload when turning. Also make sure you check the top bolt on the top hat, in the 40 odd sets I have fitted, every time they have been a tiny bit too loose for my liking.
