The guys/gals at the MX5 club in NSW are a pretty good bunch. When I first went on a run with them I thought they would rubbish MR2's but most of them had a lot of respect for them, although they all seem to think that the MX5 is the better car, obviously.
Comparing the two I have a slight leaning towards the MR2 as I think they are more of a 'drivers' car. The MX5 is a great little car and very easy to drive and is an ideal car for someone beginning their foray into sports cars. I am mainly talking about 1990 to 2000 models as the newer ones are too bl*%dy expensive and don't have the same character IMO.
