I can beat that. I've received a $2.5k bill for an electrical fault on an Alfa, that wasn't properly fixed.
I'm not too concerned about cost on this. From memory my clutch job was 4hrs labour which I think is pretty reasonable.
 
I like to DIY where I can but don't mind spending money to fix things that need fixing.

yeah 2.5k is rough, I hate elec issues because auto elecs know if you've come to them then you have no idea either haha.
 
I'm lucky that the MR2 is my second car so it can be off the road for as long as it needs, but nothing better than doing things yourself I reckon. I may retract that when something goes wrong when its back together haha
