I have got my dash in the trimmers at the minute getting recovered in micro suede
He is having an issue with the glue not going off because of the plasticiser in the Vinyl
Does anyone on here have experience with this and can recommend a glue that works

Any normal contact adhesive that a trimmer would use is fine. The surface preparation is the key as well as not asking the suede to do too much.

he has tried 2 different glues and they are sticking fine to the plastic trims with lots of contours but the vinyl dash top is not working out, the glue is not biting in so it is lifting
It has been cleaned multiple times with isopropyl and sanded to key it.
I have owned car for 12 years and never put armoral or any other product on it so it has to be the plasticiser leaching out
This is a reputable trimmer but he has never had one this bad before :(

Do you know what glue he has been using?
Where abouts is it lifting?

It's lifting on the top part of the dash, just where it curves into the binnacle area, and it is barely stretched in that part
I will check tomorrow what glue he has tried
I did a bit of reading online and it seems there are glues that are more resistant to plasticiser migration, that is why I thought this was the issue

And this is what it looked like until we had to peel it back off
It was only on for a week :(

How well will the micro suede resist fading from the sunlight coming through the windscreen?

WOW... that looks great.
Hopefully you get the gluing sorted out.. nice job, love the red stitching too ;-)

It will resist fading very well according to trimmer
In fact he refused to use genuine Alcantara as he said it cannot handle our extreme conditions here
I hope to find a glue this week and get it recovered again next week

The glue I'm using at the moment is just from a local company that has it made overseas. They are called Vyfab, but I doubt that your trimmer would want to order it from Victoria.
There is a company that are also in WA called Nolan UDA that I used to buy glue from.

As long as the suede is UV stabilized it will last fine witch seams like what your trimmer is using. Most suede available is for furniture witch is not UV stabilized
