Picked up a new rear subframe for this on the weekend thanks to drb. The current one had chewed out the control arm mount so I wasn't confident of it holding it properly to pass roadworthy.

In the next month or two I'll be sending the original transmission off for rebuild, so once that comes back I'll swap it in with the new subframe and it'll be back on the road! Will give me winter to sort out any niggles and continue working on the suspension upgrades; Still have Eibachs, Whiteline front sway and SW20 turbo rear sway to be installed, need to source Koni's. Also front suspension bushes are waiting to go in with new wheel bearings.

Pics of how it stands now (With HKS exhaust)

And of it's new carport buddy

I've put this car up for sale unofficially through a few channels, so should probably update it here as well.

I'm looking for someone to take everything I've accumulated and give this car the finishing touches, asking price is $**** ono for the lot, with a tentative that I'll be putting in the transmission that is stuck in forward gears, so any potential buyer can actually drive the car home on a day permit.

I've made the decision I don't have any intention on holding onto the car long term, but the question now is finding someone who can finish off the car and appreciate it for what it is; a damned clean example that I've done my best to clean up with new genuine Toyota parts.
I'm not going to push this car off in a hurry (though I am looking forward to the reclaimed space) and it's quite possible the transmission will eventually be fixed and the price of this car increasing if it were to be fully registered on road (possibly with original engine back in too), so now's the chance for someone to pick it up at a fair price with a lot of money spent on it, give it the simple fix up and get good value out of it.

Do you have a list of accumulated parts that are to be sold with / separately to the car?

Forgot to mention I have FULL compliance paperwork with the car (with matching sticker), so any doubts around getting this registered in ANY state can be put to rest.
Wasn't any more difficult getting it registered in ACT than a blue slip. It's already been registered in NSW before. Only caveat to this is the running engine is a different number, but you're getting the original engine as well so it's up to you how to go about this.

Do you still have a spare motor?

I have the original engine that BHG'd and needs rehone/refresh. Bought overhaul kit for it (gaskets, seals, timing belt etc).
Bought Vito's long block and transferred all my ancillaries to it, as well as any gaskets it needed (unless it leaked it was reused). Everything was cleaned up as Vito's block had a leaky sump, front main and possibly cam seals. All those were fixed and nothing leaks.
So I don't have two complete engines, just complete engine + long block + random other bits like sump, cam covers and the occasional nut and bolt along with the rest of the overhaul kit.

Vito's engine is in the car and completely running. Once the old transmission is put back in, it'll be drive-able. I hadn't put it in yet because that's the transmission I wanted to be rebuilt as it was the original factory one.

Car is still for sale unofficially, but now at this point the car will be sold as a complete, running car, due to a recent purchase that is en route via shipping container.

Price will be updated once it's all back together.

Replacement transmission has been in the country about 2 weeks now, passing quarantine etc. and slowly making its way to the importers warehouse.
I've gotten final quotes etc and I'm all paid up, so it's just a matter of waiting for the courier to collect it from the warehouse, hoping that'll happen this week.

Next free weekend (hoping 25-26th) it'll be going in. Only a few very minor things to do putting the car back together and it'll be back on the road :)
At that point I'll post up a price and invite any buyers (already have a contact or two to notify). While it's still for sale I'll be sure to drive it regularly to A - ENJOY IT! and B - ensure it's in top condition for it's new owner.

You mind me asking how much the replacement transmission cost? Presumably less than the 2k rebuild you mentioned earlier.
