Apart from waiting for kickdown, the auto is still very good to drive, you can switch to manual mode and control the gears yourself. I broke my middle exhaust pipe hanger going around a corner on a hill climb in 2nd gear using my foot to balance the car, so it shows you can still have a lot of fun in them.
 
Car should definitely be on the road within weeks. I was hoping end of month to have it running but it looks like first weekend of June engine is going back in. Even if my hopes regarding my replacement transmission backfire I know I'm in a much better position by having a second engine so I can rebuild mine to the best it can be.
 
 

If your transmission(s) end up being no good there is one available on Ebay for $350 from a Yellow 89 SC.

Yep well aware of that one, it's actually the same yellow one that was here late last year, the wreck has been sold twice since.
 
I doubt I need a third transmission though. I'd much rather just fork out and get one rebuilt so I know it's done and has warranty.

Gave the Autodub a wash, the wheels look different now that they're clean...

I am so envious of your adub at the moment. I hope mine can look as good one day soon.

Respray and reproduction decal kit is all it takes :) I was lucky enough to buy it freshly resprayed, just kept working on it to tidy everything else up.
 
Problem with my new wheels now is the brakes are very visible (horribly rusted rotors), it's annoying me because I won't get time this weekend to swap out my braided lines, RDA rotors end EBC redstuffs, also need to clean up my spare calipers and give them a coat of paint.

Looks rather clean. Even your cam covers look nice. Are they flaking paint?

Cam covers are still original and down the bottom have flecked a lot, I think I'm going to have to respray them sooner or later, just need to get reproduction decals made first!

That was going to be my next question haha. If you want to share costs to do so i'd be happy to do it.
